I got a pay check for…
changing diapers
and
changing minds
washing clothes
and
rinsing hair
scrubbing toilets
and
sweeping floors
reading books
and
cutting coupons
playing games
and
pureeing dinner
dropping off
and
picking up
taking time
and
tucking in
nursing wounds
and
nursing babe
giving smiles
and
granting wishes
instilling confidence
and
inviting hope
loving always
and
always loving
…then I could stop feeling so guilty. Can I get an AMEN?

Honestly, how much would you expect to make for all that. It really is all priceless (as they say).

Yes. I agree there is no price that could be placed on these things. I think my point in the post, however, is to say I wish society valued all the things parents do everyday the same way it values high paying jobs. That way I could stay home with them and not feel the pressure to be making money just to pay the bills.

Oh, you wonderful wife of noble character…you are worth far more than rubies! You are a supermom….not necessarily because you are just trying to appear to be EVERYTHING to EVERYONE….but because your very circumstances have put you in this position. I spent about a week with you recently and was amazed at your supermom patience, your supermom energy, your supermom resourcefulness. So after I got home I was in the restroom at Sam’s when a mother brought her toddler into the restroom to change his diaper/pants??? Her nonverbal attitude communicated her total lack of patience with her child. Then she said loudly and demandingly, “Bend your legs! Bend your legs! I can’t clean you up if you don’t bend your legs!” My first thought was, “Laura is always so patient and kind to her children/my grandchildren and for that I am very, very thankful.”
L:aura, you’re doing a really great job. No amount of money in the world could pay you for the services you perform. Just know that King Solomon recognized that a woman like you is worth “far more than rubies.”
Peace and love,
Glo
