I’m taking the kids on a road trip tomorrow with two other moms and their kids. We are going upstate to Stormville, NY - just for the night. This will be my first trip with the two of them on my own. I’m thrilled that Ira is now able to travel with a much lighter load.
Now that he is trach-less, this is all I need to pack for him:
10 cans of food
2 food bags
food pump and charger
back-up g-tube
nebulizer machine
neb mask
meds: pulmicourt, prevacid, revatio
syringes
2×2 gauze
4×4 gauze
tape
spider man bandaids
q-tips/A&D ointment
and of course diapers, wipes, and some pjs
No problem. This will be a walk in the park.

Wow that is a light load comparatively speaking of course. Have a great time with the kids and your new found freedoms. Everytime you turn around there is going to be something else you didn’t realize was so easy…

That is so cool! I remember when John’s gj-tube site was closed. I felt like I was walking on air, every time I left the house I felt like I was forgetting something… I know how you feel, it is super awesome and the load will get lighter and lighter as time goes on!
